Post by Emokoi143 on December 23rd 2012, 12:59 pm

Hello FM Staffs and you Guest
Lets direct to the topic!

My problem is this.

All i want is to make the navigation bar align in center.
E.g: The screenshot below! [ I edit it on paint. ]

Here's my/the HTML i'm using.
Code:
<div id="nav">
<ul>
<li><a href="/forum">Home</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="/portal">Portal</a></li>
<li><a href="/faq">FAQ</a></li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><a href="/search">Search</a></li>
<li><a href="/memberlist">Members</a></li>
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_out -->
<li><a href="/register">Register</a></li>
  <li><a href="/login">Login</a></li>
<!-- END switch_user_logged_out -->

<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<li><a href="/groups">Groups</a></li>
<li><a href="/profile?mode=editprofile">Profile</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="/profile?mode=editprofile&page_profil=preferences">Preferences</a></li>
<li><a href="/profile?mode=editprofile&page_profil=signature">Signature</a></li>
<li><a href="/profile?mode=editprofile&page_profil=avatars">Avatar</a></li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><a href="/privmsg?folder=inbox">Inbox</a></li>
<li><a href="/login?logout">Logout</a></li>
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->
<li><a href="/contact">Contact</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="/privmsg?mode=post&u=1">MJCreado</a></li>
<li><a href="/privmsg?mode=post&u=3">AceSuazo</a></li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</div>

I know you don't need my/the CSS to solved my problem.
You know what to do if you're really a coder.

PS: I tried all but i didn't success [I'm not a good coder]. So I'm looking for your help friend.

Lols. That's not a logo.
It's a nav bar.
PS: I know if i select " center " in navigation bar positioning, It wont work.
Because i didn't use default navbar.
I use custom navbar.

Any replies?

Try this if this'll work.

Code:
div#nav {
position: absolute;
top: 400px;
left: 110px;
}

Put that in your CSS. It should stick to it and move your nav bar up. Try editing the CSS code inputted by either using right, left, top, bottom or even change the position to 'bottom center'.

AuQaClan:
Emokoi143 said that changing it there does not work. It has to be changed in the CSS.

Well, as you said that it works, what's the other problem you encountered when you used it?

Because the navlinks are overlaying.

Please post a screen shot of the problem. And another thing, I think it would be better if you just put it in a table code OR I can provide you a code on how to make it post on the very top part of your forum.

As in, the custom navigation bar will scroll down with you but it's not annoying to look at so as long as you know how to style it.
