Solved Forum viewing as admin

Post by hawkmoon on January 4th 2013, 12:11 am

Hi there, not sure if there is the option to, but is there a way of viewing your forum (while logged in as admin) as though your a member or group member. This way you can see how it looks as though your a user belonging to the group etc without creating accounts and modifying user permissions all the time. I know you can see the permissions this way just wondering if you can see the forum "live" so to speak.
Thx in advance

Hi,

I'm not really getting this, but I think you're trying to see how it would be if you were a normal member viewing the forum?

I don't really think anything changes, they aren't able to view somethings, such as the Mod Panel and other small things, but anything you see they see. To answer your question, no there's isn't anything method that can let you do that. The only options you got is creating an account to view the forum like a member.

I was wanting it so I could see if hidden groups etc did or didnt appear to members. As admin you see all topics etc. just a double chk about permissions set really.

If you set the permission of hidden groups or forums that aren't visible to members, then they won't be able to view the forum or the hidden group. Since you're an admin you'll be able to see everything.
