Boards functioning as links to other parts of site? (redirect boards)

First, I'm not certain if this is the right board, so I apologize if I've misplaced this thread.

As for my question, I've seen many forums that have some boards that link to other sections of the site instead of actually being normal forum boards. I'm running a forum that has several external sections of the site (including a file exchange for users to upload their mods for a game), and having redirect boards so that they function as links to those external sections of the site would be helpful. I haven't seen it in the admin panel, but I was wondering if it was possible to do this by any change in the templates. I'm using PunBB.
