Changing from 1 personailized Domain to another...
We have a need to change our current personalized domain to another... (fyi our current personalized doamin is www.ps3maddengroup.com - but with the release of the PS4 this fall a change would make sense...)
What is the process to change from 1 personalized domain to another personalized domain?
how can we see if the personalized domain that we would like is available?
If people go to our current personalized domain - can they be directed to the new personalized domain that we choose?

You cannot change. But, you will need to delete the current domain & buy a new one again.

Deleting the current personalized domain is not an option - we would lose all the members / visitors that we have taken 4 years to develop...
Perhaps we create a new forumotion board and leave our a current message board with a CLEAR MESSAGE AND LINK TO FIND US AT OUR NEW URL (which would be the forumotion board we create that can have the appropriate new personalized domain attached too..)
What you think - would that be feasible?

You won't loose all your members, you can change your domain and keep your members and send them a mass email saying you've changed domains.
I guess setting up a new forum could be an option and then creating a redirect/link announcement could be an option.

When you delete the custom domain name, it would still be possible to access the site via the old Forumotion URL.

I wouldnt delete the old custom domain - i would just leave a clear message and link telling them to join us aty the new domain...
and sure i wouldnt lose all my members - BUT KNOW DOUBT I WOULD LOSE PLENTY - mostly guys that dont come to the forum much - but its great to be able to reach out to them when needed... and every member has some value - just hate to lose any... its a shame we cant just redirect the traffic to the new URL - probably not something you had a whole lot of demand for - but we certrainly could use it for our current ònce in a lifetime circumstance.,...

Well instead couldn't you send out a mass email to all your members? Informing them of the site change?

Hi,
Adding to what Derrick said, make a global announcement inside the board. That can help as well.
