Flash necessary to post videos?
I work entirely mobile, I'm currently unable to post YouTube videos even with the HTML enabled. The problem i believe is the lack of options while posting, there's no button available for posting YouTube videos. I've enabled all buttons, (some were missing) but still to no avail I am unable to post videos. I'm thinking its a flash required service, as i unfortunately don't have it on my device. Is it required?

Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
Yes absolutely flash is required to see youtube videos, however they are working on implementing HTML5 to play the videos and its still in beta, so consequently some youtube members will have an option to use the HTML5 versions as a test. Its an opt-in trial of HTML5 video on YouTube. If you are using a supported browser (i.e.firefox, chrome, opera), you can choose to use the HTML5 player instead of the Flash player for most videos. But right now the majority of videos require flashplayer. I actually don't think its going over very well and flash will be needed for a very long time. Having said that technically html 5 would be better, but thats another topic.
Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
I greatly appreciate the reply...lol but my problem is the editor it self, it doesn't show. Like the smilies, they're enabled and a friend is using them, only they don't show up for me in the editing process even though I am using "classic" over the mobile. Again i am assuming its flash related...

Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
Well the smiles are not flash related only the videos in which you inquired about, your issue with the smiles is related to your browser or the text editor is not working correctly because you may have edited the template considering you're using phpbb2.
Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
I don't know enough about the template to feel safe enough to mess with it. I've tried dolphin opera and fire fox, but browser issues do make sense...

So the smiles do work on firefox and opera?
Here is the official topic about what you might need to do to the template if you have ever edited it before:

Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
No, none if the editing options show up, regardless of browser. Ill see if i can't get a pic of my editor and post it. Or send dropbox it and post the link...

Re: Flash necessary to post videos?
Its a sketchy pic, the two buttons center are preview and send. There basically is no editor...
