Solved How to change JUST reply box blockquote

Post by Mr. Eddster on February 9th 2014, 8:31 am

Hi, I'd like to change the color of the yellow blockquote, and make it so that it JUST applies when quoting people, and that it doesnt apply to EVERY blockquote on the site
Picture of what i want to be changed:

is this possible? Thanks!

I don't know how to do that, but one solution is to just turn it off, press the last button in editor..

jqery.sceditor.default.min.css:1 blackquote {
         background:  none repeat scroll 0% 0% YOUR COLOR;
}

this did not work  Confused

i noticed there were some possible spelling errors as well, so i changed "jqery" to "jquery" and "blackquote" to "blockquote", and that still didnt work
i then tried adding !important to the end and it still didnt work  Confused
i also tried it as the original code you gave me above

did that, still doesnt work  Sad
i put this at the top of the CSS

jquery.sceditor.default.min.css:1 blockquote {
  background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% rgb(142, 200, 250)!important;
}

took out !important as well, and tried using the # cod instead of the rgb code, same result

edit: this is beyond weird, because when i right click => inspect element, and i get "blockquote", i can edit the color fine. Then i just copy/paste whatever the blockquote elements are, add it to the top of my stylesheet, and it doesnt apply

Hello Mr. Eddster,

You should be able to change the sceditor quote style with the following script :
Administration Panel > Modules > Javascript codes management > Create a new script

Title : what you wish
Placement : In all the pages
Code:
$(window).load(function() {

    var style =
    '<style>'+
    'blockquote {'+
    'color:#000 !important;'+
    'background:#DDD !important;'+
    'border:1px solid #888 !important;'+
    '}'+
    '</style>';

    $('.sceditor-container iframe').contents().find('head').append(style);

});

You can edit the css in the style variable.
