Solved Link color same as text color

Post by Guardian-Angel on April 14th 2014, 3:07 am

Hi there

I've been playing with the link colour and was able to change the colour when we hover over the link. But when I changed the colour of the link itself, I lost the hover colour.

The text in the link is the same colour as the text that we use for posting so it doesn't even look like an accessible link.

When a description is used, it just looks like a normal word.

Can I get direction on where to change this.

Thanks

Hello Guardian-Angel,

You should be able to change the link color here :
Administration panel > display > colors

You can change the default, visited, active, and hover colors of the links.

Default : is the default color shown without any interaction
Visited : is the color shown when you have visited that link
Active : is the color shown when you press down on the link
Hover : is the color shown when you hover over the link

You can change all four to whatever you want. Very good

Solved Re: Link color same as text color

That is where I've been testing what I want to do. None of those seem to work for me. When I change Link Colour which I'm assuming is Default?, all the links change colour, title of threads etc. but not the link that is in a post which is what I want to be a different colour.

When I change Active, I don't see any changes.

Hover is fine.

To recap, when a  link is posted in a post, it is the same colour as the text we are using on the forum, and therefore doesn't look like it would work. Now that I changed hover, you can hover over it and it will change colour. I'd like it to be a standard blue url colour or at least play with it until I am satisfied.

Also, how to I get the preview like you posted above? I somehow did that while I was playing, but I don't know how.

You can try changing the post color by CSS :
Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet
Code:
.post .postbody div a { color:#0AC; }

I take a Screenshot, use the host an image button, then embed the image with the image tags.
Code:
[img]myimage[/img]

I just want the links that are posted to be a different colour, not the colour of posts. Will the above example change just the colour of the links or all text in a post?

This :
Code:
.post .postbody div a { color:#0AC; }

Will change only the color of links in posts. A = Anchor, which is the HTML element for links.

So literally :

.post : Selects the entire message.
.post .postbody : Selects the portion of the message that contains the post options, message..
.post .postbody div : Selects all div elements in the post body; message content.
.post .postbody div a : Selects all links inside the message content.

Forgive me, I am not familiar with the CSS sheet.

I added this and saved it.

.post .postbody div a { color:##FF4D4D; }

It didn't change anything.

Edit: I  noticed I had two ##. I deleted one, and it worked exactly what I wanted.

Thank you for your patience! Smile

Problem is solved.
