Cannot delete homepage message Empty Cannot delete homepage message

Hi, I recently added a homepage message and now that I don't need it, it won't delete, so the message is permanently shown! I blank out the field and hit save but the text returns in the field.
I have added many homepage messages in the past with no bother until now. Any suggestions please?
