Solved Can't change the Toolbar color in administration panel.

Post by medusa on January 11th 2015, 8:35 am

Hallo everyone.

I really love the toolbar but my main problem is that even though I have changed the colour for
Editor background color (Toolbar)

Then it changes nothing!
I really want to change the colour of the #fa_menulist
but I do not know how to do it Smile

Here is a picture so you can see that the menulist' colour doesn't quite fit to the color of the site.
https://i38.servimg.com/u/f38/17/54/90/51/new_bi12.jpg

and a little extra thing if you know how to remove the #fa_share .... plz do tell me! Smile

Hello medusa.

If clicking the saved button doesn't work, you can try modifying the CSS code instead. If you do not know how to get to it, access the Display tab in your Adminstration Panel. Under "Pictures and Colors", click "Colours" and there should be a tab that says "CSS Stylesheet" next to the "Colors" tab. Next, inside the box type the following code:

Code:
#fa_toolbar.fa_fix {
  background-color:#ffffff;
}

#fa_toolbar_hidden.fa_fix {
  background-color:#ffffff;
}

Replace the question marks with the html-code for the colour of your choosing. This website may help you find what the html-code of your preferred colour is. I tested this on my own forum before commenting, so it should be working.

EDIT: I have realised that your forum is in Danish(?), so in case you are confused with my instructions—as I am referring to the tabs and links in English—I will try providing said tabs and links in Danish. Please excuse any mistakes; I am using google translate.

After accessing the "Ga til Adminisrations-panelet", click the "Udstilling" button. Under "Billeder og Farver", clikc "Farver". Next to the "Farver" tab, there should be a "CSS Typografiark" tab. Enter the code I have provided and your toolbar should be forced into the colours of your choosing.

Thanks for the instructions and also the Danish translation(even though I didn't needed it ) Smile

But it doesn't work sadly. I don't know why, I have copied exactly your code and only changed the colour number(or what ever it is called)

You're quite welcome, medusa.

As for the ineffective code, I have realised the possibility that your toolbar may not be fixed, thus rendering the provided code redundant; in which case, here is a new set of code that may work instead.

Code:

#fa_toolbar {
  background-color:#ffffff;
}

#fa_toolbar_hidden {
  background-color:#ffffff;
}

Hopefully, you see some positive results; I'm glad to have helped.

My toolbar is fixed
but sadly again the new code does not work either, and I do not still have any idea of why it doesn't work.

I do have a translation-script for my toolbar
the code from this topic http://help.forumotion.com/t138151-language-settings-missing-translation
But I have turned it off, so the script isn't probably the problem.

I do have a good handful of other scripts and some few CSS codes for other things, but I do not think that they are the problem.

I believe I have found a possible solution. I took the entirety of the coding on your site and replicated, and have found that the code I gave you indeed does not work—the first time. With the following code, I tested it out and it seems to have worked with your forum's current coding. Try pasting the following code at the top of your stylesheet, instead of somewhere in-between all the other CSS elements for your chat. But, in case you wanted to change the background to your toolbar's search, I added a section for it as well (since it is currently black, and would blend in with the rest of your toolbar. You can leave it be if you would like to keep your searchbar black).

Code:

input#fa_textarea {
background-color:#000000;
}

#fa_toolbar.fa_fix {
  background-color:#000000;
}

#fa_toolbar_hidden.fa_fix {
  background-color:#000000;
}

#fa_toolbar.fa_fix {
  background-color:#000000;
}

#fa_toolbar_hidden.fa_fix {
  background-color:#000000;
}

I am not sure why your toolbar won't change with the first time, but this solution should work anyways. If it doesn't, I will continue searching for other ways.

Now I see the problem Smile the codes are great and working
but not for that which I was looking for, I'm looking for changing the #fa_menulist
The background of the window when you click on "welcome (username)"
Like in the picture which I linked to in the first comment :3
because when my whole site is in black and dark colours, it seems kind of odd that the menulist's background colour is white ^^

So maybe the other codes did work but because the toolbar itself is darkgrey and I was only looking at the changes in the menulist's colour(which did not change because the codes code for the toolbar ifself not the menulist) then I did not see the changes of the toolbar's colour. Smile

Try this in your CSS:

For the Notifications:
Code:
#notif_list {background-color: #@@@@@@;}

For the Welcome Guest:

Code:
#fa_menulist {background-color: #@@@@@@;}

Replace the @@@@@@ with the exact color code you require. Use !important after @@@@@@ if needed.

Unfortunately, after testing the codes SamanthaS provided, the notifications bar did not change colours. The menulist CSS is functional, however; for ease of use, I have included it into the code below so that you may copy/paste them all out once. Simply change the 0s to whatever colour-code preferred.

Code:
ul#fa_menulist {
  background-color: #000000;
}

li#n1 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n2 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n3 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n4 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n5 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n6 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n7 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n8 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n9 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

li#n10 {
  background-color: #000;
  color: #fff;
}

#notif_list li {
  color: fff;
}

Works fine for me my code (even tested it):
Code:
#notif_list {background-color: #d2d2d2!important;}
#fa_menulist {background-color: #d2d2d2!important;}

Once again testing SamanthaS's provided codes, it works for my forum as well; I made a mistake and left a space between the colour codes and "!important". I would recommend using her coding as it is more efficient than my own.

@medusa As aforementioned, I am glad to have helped. If we have helped you solve your problem, might I suggest marking this topic as solved, so the staff members would not have to go through waiting in anticipation for there to be a follow-up question or otherwise.

@SamanthaS Just a note, I'm not sure if replies such as giving verbal thanks or a response to a thanks counts as useful information or an additional question, but in case it doesn't might I recommend conjoining your two consecutive posts to avoid violating the rules and another warning if it warrants one.
