Delete "Guest" posts option

Post by Guest on September 24th 2015, 3:31 am

Hello, I think there should be a feature where if you allow members to unsubscribe, you could have an option to delete their "Guest posts". In the ACP...[I'll edit this later..]

You can already do this in through the moderation panel. Why do we need this in the admin panel too? If you mean a delete all button, not sure if that is possible or not.

I vote no.

The reason why is some of the posts could be important topics, like rules, tutorials, etc.

I can't vote but if I would be able to I'd vote NO for the sole reason that it took me 2 minutes to understand what you were talking about.

This suggestion is making no sense. Why? Well, let's take this topic for example. As everyone can see the first post is considered like being posted by a guest. Now imagine that this suggestion would be something very useful(which it's not loul ). If someone clicks that button in the panel, this post would go away and the topic would have a bunch of comments making no sense just because the first post was deleted. I don't get why you would need a option like that in the panel when you can simply go to the topics and delete the messages yourself.

Someone from the staff should fix that poll. :wouhou:

The problem with this...

if say my name was bob on your forum and i made 30 topic's and 1000 posts
All of my posts would be removed and the thread would not make sense.
Now my topics would be removed but the other members posts will still be there and would also not make sense.

Now say you wanted to keep say the old members post that was named tom but not mine and say max also removed he's account you would go in your ACP and click on all guests names be removed you would loose all of them not just mine.

So i Vote NO as i think this would just make a mess of your forum and nothing would read right.
