Global Moderators

Post by lockelymarkets on January 20th 2007, 2:21 am

I think it would be good to have Global Moderators that are different from Moderators in the way that they can ban members and moderate the whole forum. It would be good to have this in some forums where moderators cannot ban.

Allowing moderators to ban would be nice...

But your moderators can already moderate the whole forum, if you give them the power to.

So I vote yes. But only for the banning power being given to moderators.

moderators can ban if you want them to, but then you worry about a power creep.

I vote no as you can already allow moderators to ban.

What I mean is that some moderators can moderate only parts of the forum and cannot ban. But then Global Moderators could moderate everywhere and can ban. It would be a good way to stop some moderators from banning, while allowing global moderators to do so.

OK, that is not what I meant at all.

I mean the ability to give some moderators no right to ban (moderators) and others rights to ban (global moderators).

Okay, now thats more clear....

But seems some what pointless....

Banning for a moderators of any kind should be dealt with by the admin, so still no.

You create two moderator groups...
One you give moderators allowances everywhere and the ability to ban, the other(s) only moderation power where you want Wink

P.S; I voted no

Like Caihlem, I voted no because you can already do this with groups and permissions Smile

Where exactly do we give one ban powers and the other none?

Why complicate?
