I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but I'm just suggesting.

Anyway, on to the suggestion, if sigs get to a certain height, it'd stop right there and everything else will get cut off. You could also set the height limit.

Again, I'm not sure if this is possible, but I've seen few few sites before that has this feature.

Yes it's possible with the phpbb software, I have seen a forum done this before.
