Different page for guests

I think it would be good to make special page for guests, so they cant see forum or portal page until they register.

On that pages, administrators could write messages like:

Code:

Dear Guest,
This forum is about .........xxxxx.....
You cant see forum content until you register.

REGISTER HERE

or something like that.... This will make guests to register...
What do you think?

you can basically do this already, using permissions and creating an html page. just need some imagination and the know how

How much easier can they make it?
create an html page.
make a new home page, say what you want to say, add a link to register.
go to permissions, make sure guests cant see any pages besides your home page.

Are you sure that only guests will see this page and not the other members...

idk, i see what you're trying to say. lets say you made an html home page with that info you described.
when someone types in your forum url
yourforum.com
it takes them to that page, gives them the option to log in or register only.
if they have already registered but not logged in, they would still have to see that page no matter what.
anyways, so they log in or register, go to your forum, and never have to see that page again until they log out. even if they hit the button in the navigation row labled home. because that takes you to yourforum.com/index not your actual home page.
the problem i see with making the html page your home page, is if you are logged in, visit another website, then go back to your website, they will see that page again telling them to register.
but, i dont really find that a big concern.

I think it would be better if we can customise hide tags...

I could use something like,

"Hey guests! Register and you'll see no advertisments on this board!" or something like that.

This idea gets my approval.
