Forum Post Masthead/Header Option

One of my main competitors forums (non phpBB) has the ability to give each member their own page. I recognize this adds significant resources to provide - perhaps too much for Forumotion to provide. I am at the point where I want to offer several members more visibility on the forum. My suggestion on how to do this is as follows:

Add a special post-type category. Currently there are normal, post its and announcement entry types . My suggestion is to add another named Display, Header or Masthead type. Display or Header would be a forum entry, that would place itself in the announcement/post it section of a forum and would open when members accessed the forum. Display would be a regular post that would open in it's chronological place when the forum is accessed.

This way a forum could contain a graphic or headline representative of the forums author or subject matter or direct attention in it's open status within the forum. It seems this would be something relatively easy to implement with minimal resources required.
