Rules update

Post by Darren1 on February 16th 2009, 12:38 am

Hello,

Id like to suggest that we update our rules.

The rules are good, its just, their out dated, as in Editboard, aren't we now ForuMotion?

Sincerely
Darren.

Well, of course that the Editboard bit could be edited. But the whole rules are fine the way they are. They don't need changing. Therefore voting no. Smile

ok, im going to poke fun at the GD board rules for now.

Have the stuff that the rules say we can do, we cant now because its not related to forumotion directly.

Shouldnt that be fixed so new members actually understand why we are not allowed to post non-forumotion related posts / threads?

Sincerely
Darren.

Yeah...Tbh it shouldn't be called general discussions, it should be called forum discussions or something. I'm not having a go, but I'm just saying what I believe. Because with what we are and aren't allowed to talk about in there, isn't really that general at all.

bwi coming onto the read that im on...

Spoiler:

want some direction's?

Take the next left,
then take a right, the 2nd right (not the first one)
and then pull up at the next house (which is also the 3rd left, after the T intersection)

Do you see the point that im making, the rules need to be defined to EXACTLY what TODAY'S rules are.

where as the current set Isn't saying what is acceptable today.

I mean even after the whole kilsek thing the rules were changed, were not even allowed to talk about the next update!! (as I believe, looking at staffs actions there).

Thats very true actually, because yes it is forum discussion not actually general. Well a small proportion is general but more or less of it is forum discussion.
Who would re-write the rules?

you could create your own rules, and type what you have as your rules.

-.- Tayne, there is already a thread on the GD board for your forum's rules Wink

What I am suggesting is an UPDATE / AMENDMENT to the CURRENT rules rules that are in play.

As said in previous posts, id would be nice for new members to know that we cannot have something such as a non forumotion related thread in there, unless its been approved by a staff member.
That would be nice to know in the rules, Wouldn't it?

Also a change from EditBoard TO ForuMotion would be nice for the newer members not aware of our forum's history

I don't think the forum-wide rules need changing, but the General Discussions section needs to either be renamed and/or have the rules in it reviewed.

darren1 wrote:Also a change from EditBoard TO ForuMotion would be nice for the newer members not aware of our forum's history
Why would you not want new members to know about the company's history? It shows new members how reliable this company is and what is have come from.

ParadiseKid, I am saying that because it would confuse some people...
they'd think like
EditBoard scratch I thought this was / is ForuMotion
F*** this place, im going somewhere else.

I know that's what happened in my mind, but I did come back.

I am suggesting this, so new members to not have that poor thought, and stay here at the support forum a little longer

Also would be useful to remove / merge similar topic's or topics that could be apart of something else.

Re: Rules update

Post by Darren1 on February 28th 2009, 11:17 pm

Who the bloodey heck voted no?? twice

Also in this rules update, it would be nice for the rules to state the difference between a Reminder and a Warning and that 3 reminders OF ANY SORT = 1 warning.

Rather than the current system
3 reminders of SIMILAR (ie double posting) = warning, and yet u could have another reminder for something else.

Edit:
Yes, i am aware there has not been 24hrs since I last posted in here, its only been 22hrs, and now i run away to work for the next 12hrs Wink

Edit2 - reminder for self:

Spoiler:
Hello

Due to an ever increasing number of topics, we've decided
to tighten up the rules a notch, as well as do a clean up. Indeed, from
12 pages to only 2. We hope you'll appreciate the work and will
participate in the threads.
As usual, we still don't accept chit-chat threads and these will be locked.
We
will also be creating 2 Only-Topics; Complaints about the Forum &
and Only-Topic concerning all the issues about updates in general, we
do not exclude eventual topics relevant to each Update (made by a staff
member).
Concerning the "Complaints about the Forum" thread, we will
be removing all posts which aren't written in a correct manner. This
isn't to limit your freedom of speech. This is so as to ensure that if
there is a problem, we may work together on it and find a solution.
Ofcourse, you are always invited to do so by P.M instead if you want to
preserve anonymity. Also, complaints concerning staff members are, we
insist, to be sent to me or any other Admin by P.M.

Thanks for your comprehension

Cordially
ForuMotion Staff

Get that in action

Id also like to point out the following in the rules section has NOT happened as of yet, and am wondering why, but oh well

These rules definitely need to be updated because I was just 'reminded' for something that's not even displayed in the rules. I didn't even know I was doing something wrong by helping a user. Smile

Take your time though, Caihlem. You need your rest for being the boss of the forum.
