(Dunno if this has been suggested yet, and don't really care to go through 54 pages to find out.)
I believe there should be a way to have like 5 custom themes on your forum, instead of being limited to just one. This is readily available on the full phpbb2 & 3 admin panels. Reason being, I would like to have one as a default theme, one as an alternate theme, and a couple more to play with. Like, some users like the Phpbb3 theme, so I made that a theme for a while. Then, some users complained of lag, so I went to phpbb2. Well, those who liked the phpbb3 theme were disappointed because the other theme looked uglier. So, yeah, you get my point. I would also like the test one because then I can play with a theme and edit it without having to cause pain and suffering to the users who are using the default theme, but still let some be able to test it out without having admin rights on the forum. (Which is the reason why I don't use the present temporary themes.)
Could just make it a choice in the preferences on which theme you want to use, and allow the admins to see how many people are using the themes and/or make everyone who is using one theme use a different theme. (So that when you make a mistake you can kick off everyone using that theme and force them to the default or another theme of choice.)
