First topic message reminder :

I suggest their Be a button in options that you can choose that will disable the post count for users so that when a users posts something, their "Posts:" will not rise.

That's because this is the original suggestion.

I totally agree with this, especially with games. Plus some people spam overtly in games sections in forums just to boost their post count. I don't really care about post counts I have to admit but it's important to have them there to see how active the person really is especially to see if they are suitable for a moderator job.

It wouldnt hurt to have it as a option though because i would like to get rid of post count in a hope to stop people trying to be top, and if its a option u can keep it if you want or dissable it. The choice wouldnt hurt so i dont see why it hasnt been done yet.

I vote yes. I would like to disable post count in the forum games section, if people posted in that forum, they could make 300 posts in one day if they really wanted to.

I am no fan of quantity over quality - though those that post with intelligent remarks will get the respect they deserve for their modest number of high quality input.
I am also not a fan of age, No. of posts and length of service having more respect than any other.
I do believe you have to let members see through the stats and 'take a view' of other members as to their worth. Besides, it's personal view as to a members input being interesting/honest/numerous etc..
I thought these stats could be disabled though.

Spamming should be in the rules as a no go - warn spammers and ban persistent spammers.

I vote yes. It is a good idea for people who just want to post to gain ranks. How ever, we got rid of post count ranks on the fourum I am a part of.
So I vote yes./

Guessing these are examples of reasons to have no post counts
voting is already saying yes and then adding a post too.
Happens a lot with polls

Further dialog regarding motivation for vote may turn it from spam to post Smile

I voted YES!!

You see, in my forum, we have a place where they can "spam" and we don't want their posts to raise to get a better rank.

We just want the posts not to rise in a specific forum.

For all you people who vote 'no', but this suggestion does get made (or whatever), you can just choose not to use it, right?

Hope it comes soon.
