Temporary Browsing

It would be great if one could allow guests to browse the forum for limited period of time and then offer registration to recieve unlimited access to the forum.

Any potential?

Sure they could - but that is besides the point. Those who return to browse now and then would rather register once than having to change IP every time they surf there - the incentive is aptly distributed in the limited time solution - in my opinion. It is not a "legality" issue but a matter of incentive.

I don't like the idea, mostly because it's a forum & not a limited time offer tool.

How do you mean manually? I can´t see how I could impose time restricted browsing on a guest?

By modifying permissions in your admin panel while guests are online, Wink

That´s very crude and the method doesn´t serve the intention at all. I stick to the my original suggestion.

I think this is useful, and definitely an incentive to register the forum, for the sake of further browsing. From there that could lead to posting. Very Happy
