BLACK LISTED IP urgent help required

i have a big problem with my board, i have had the board 30 months and no major problems but this one is major and needs attention by a admin please, my original problem is described in this post but i had no response

however after looking more closely at the problem i found when i login to my board my ip is not my usual ip? so to test this i logged into 2 other boards i have set up (1 for family and 1 i use to test stuff) the result being is when i log in i have my usual ip so i logged back into my main site and the same odd ip i googled the ip and it says this ip is blacklisted! i am very confused with this and need some support with the problem asap? please

Certainly not!  So this is why it is important to use titles [b]related to your problem/question[/b].  Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.

so sorry if i havent used an explicit title but i wouldnt know what to call it as the problem is very strange! i mean why would my ip only change to a blacklisted ip when logging into one site? can you shed any light on this? thankyou

maybe call it 'blacklisted IP' or something? keyword = IP

Did you ban your own id?

no not at all i have only ever banned 1 member and that was 2 years ago.
a few days ago i noticed when i activate a member i need to re login just after doing so, when i then logout i still show as logged in, also the back button in the browser wont work on the site (ie8) my ip shows as a different ip than my actual ip, and the one that shows is blacklisted according to google, this only happens on 1 of my 3 formotion sites and it is a bit of a worry to be honest

i have researched the ip through google and it says its blacklisted, it is not my real ip as it only shows as this when logged into 1 site, the ip is

as far as i can see the ip address i get when i am logged in! i have tried several pc's cleared cache etc no effect, i know it sounds weird but its deffo the ip! can you see the ip i have posted from? they will not be the same

yes its related otherwise i would not be troubling you sanket, as i said when logged in with this ip i get logged out while administrating the forum which is causing me a lot of hassle, when i activated a member today they just dissapeared, and there is the quistion why is this happening and its only on this 1 forumotion hosted site

sounds like you are as confused as me! i am the admin and i am getting logged off everytime i activate a member! but i still show as logged in! but infact i am logged out, my board is different once logged in with the widgets etc and i am deffo logged out, why is my ip changed on this 1 site

no no proxies! and sanket its not like i am spamming i have a big problem with my site and want it sorted asap! i think it deserves some proper attention from a techy, my forum as been fine for nearly 3 years and i have enjoyed using it! even payed out to have all the ads rmoved for 2 years, and now i need some technical support! and time is a issue as it needs sorting soon as! i am in the right place arnt i ? this is forumotion support?

ok this is a joke! i mean how long do we have to wait for admin / techy to look at this problem on my forumotion site! problems are even worse now and every time i go to read a pm after getting a pop up message i have to login again, i have to re login every 2 minutes its doing my head in, also when in admin i can see sometimes users have the same ip as myself, the ip is a blacklisted ip on google and as i have said this is not my ip and is associated with some sort of phishing, i need this sorting out so please move this to "need a technician" section. thankyou

have you tried taking your website back to before the problems started, i.e
putting your forum back to the day before the problems started, of course you will have to lose some posts, but it down to you if its worth it

ok i will try to explain, firstly i have 3 forumotion sites
1 which is my main site with over 500 user
2 one i use for testing
3 one i have set up for the family

Now the problems i have are on my main site,
things that are not right
1 the ip address displayed in admin for myself is not my actual ip address and i have confirmed this by checking it on my other forumotion sites,
2 the ip displayed is blacklisted by google and also other users on the site are displaying the same blacklisted ip as myself,
3 when doing any basic functions on the site such as make a post or reply to a post, i have to re login to do so, when i activate a member i have to religion even though i am already in the admin panel, same fo sending email
4 also when i do re login as mentioned above it causes me to still show as logged in long after i have logged out!
i am certain all these problems are associated with the ip address mentioned,
these problems are only happening on one of my forumotion sites and its very annoying because it is preventing me from managing the site in a proper manner, i would like a techy to take a look at my site , i have had the site nearly 3 years and payed to have adds removed etc i would be grateful for any help

me too my ip is not real and my users ip is not real but i don't have problem i log in/out ok

well 6 days has passed since my first report of this major problem and still no sign of any help, when i first created the forum i chose forumotion because of its ease of use and the FORUM SUPPORT! now my forum is not easy to use and well there is just no support!
i have seen at least 3 other members on here repoting the same problems and they have had no help either, i must say i am very dissapointed at the lack of response from yourselves,

this is just not right and i am waiting for a response!

I'm sorry to hear about the delay in any response, but please be aware, that we are a community-based support forum, and we are volunteer's as well,, and not all of us have the kind of knowledge that may be necessary.
I myself don't know what could cause this, but Ill see what I can do for you.

Can you please answer these questions;

• Your forum URL
  
• when did this start occurring?
  
• What browser are you using, does it occur on other browsers, can you update it?
  
• Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's only on ONE forum?
  
• it occurs to other members not just you
  
• your not using a proxy
  
• Your Ip address, is it static or dynamic? (please do NOT provide you full I address, if you decide to give us your IP, star some of it out ie 159.***.**.5)

first thing i would do is restore the forum back to a point before this start occurring.
As far as your ip showing up as a ip that you do not have and google is saying it's blacklisted?

i would contact google and ask them exactly what this means. i would also contact my service provider and ask them how this is even possible that you are coming up under a ip that is not yours and google says it blacklisted. i have never heard of a ip being blacklisted?
i have heard of domains.. but ip's???? banned from various sites.. ok.. but blacklisted so no sure what that can mean at all. unless it just means it's a secure or anonymous ip and you can not gather any info from it??? i realy do not know i am just guessing?

Explain to themn that you are not useing an ip changer nor are you using any proxy.

Have you tried blocking tried banning/blobking this ip? try banning the ip.NOTE: If you ban this ip and it's reading that it is your ip then you may ban your self.. but this only the ip.. so if you try that be sure you have access to another computer so you can log back in then remove the ip ban. But be sure to try a restore first.

This is very complicated to understand because it makes no sense how an ip you do not have would be showing up as you.. unless you have someone else that knows your pass and is logging in as you the admin and causing all of this.. i mean i dont know?

And are you sure this ip is not from another computer you have logged in from?

But until you can sort out this ip where it's coming from i dont think the techs would be able to do much.. they have no idea what problem they would even be looking for and they have nothing to do with any ip's.

but i dont know..

So first try to restore your forum back to a few days befor this all start happening.

then contact google and ask exactly what this blacklisted ip means.
And also contact your service provider and ask how this is even possible for you to be showing as an ip thats not even yours and you are not useing an ip changer or proxy to change it.

That's about all i can suggest at this point.. try to get them answers, and try to restore the forum back to the point befor this start happening.

If all fails and there are no answers and or the restore dose not work. then we will have to pass this on to typlo for him to put a request in for a tech.. but befor we can do this we need as much info as possible so the techs know what there dealing with. this whole ip thing i just a bit bazaar and totally out of the ordinary.
