Domain Name Taken?

So, apparently we needed to renew our Domain Name, even though we usually get a warning in the Admin Panel for this, we didn't.

It says because our site is so active we get a free Domain name. Which is awesome!

But when I go to put our old URL back in there it says it's taken.

Um, we've been wayoftheninja.org for like, 3 years. Plus whenever I put in the url wayoftheninja.org it just takes me to a Forumotion search screen. So it's not taken, and I am not sure why it says it is. We definitely would like the gift! But we'd also like to keep our URL, which isn't taken..

Any help would be appreciated.

You can't take the free domain when you have a domain already you must remove the old one and then take the free domain.

But our Domain expired. How do I remove the old one?

Edit: Okay, so I think I actually pulled off what you said, except now when I go under credits it says: Your old url was way of the ninja dot org. You need to renew your URL. You have - 10 days to do so or it will expire. So now our url: wayoftheninja.org works fine...it still says it's going to expire and the little gift is gone. So did I do it right?

And now it's back to saying we need a new domain name but not offering a gift for us to use?

Edit: I decided to just screw the gift and pay for it myself. Too much hassle.

So I go to buy it and click my domain: wayoftheninja.org

And it still says it's taken!
By what? I don't know! If you type: http://wayoftheninja.org or http://www.wayoftheninja.org into your browser it just takes you to a search screen. So why won't it give us back our domain? Especially now that I've put money into this.
