Make a topic and fill out the form shown here that you meet the requirements for:

We temporarily closed the section since we're all away, and it would be a better way to cope up with the requests when we/someone gets back.

I read the codes on how and what to put when starting a topic for review, but when I clicked "New Topic," it told me that only members with special permissions were let in.

I feel like I'm missing something... Did I not read something?

The section is temporarily closed to open new review requests. Read the post that jophy made a little above.

Re: [Only Topic] Questions about Reviews

Post by Castellana on January 30th 2013, 5:58 pm

Hello!

When the reviewer reviews the forum does he do so as a guest? If so, how can he see - and rate - some of the special features?

For example, on my forum a guest can see almost everything EXCEPT the photo rotation, the chat box, and a couple other things reserved for registered members. How will the reviewer deal with this?

Thanks!

If there are sections where guests can not see, you will need to create an account for the reviewer to use.

I am not involved with a site that I requested for a review and won't be requesting a review for said site every again. However, if I was to request a review for a new site would I have to link back to the review from the site I no longer go on?

I would assume no, because its not got anything to do with said site since its a different site and I am no longer affiliated with this old site that I requested a review for.

Hi,

Let's say, if you're requesting a full review and if your last request was a Full Review. Then, you'll have to provide the URL of the last request. That way they can see the amount of time it has passed since they do give you an amount of time that you can request again. Hope that this is the correct answer to your query.

This is for us to keep track of your requests and to be fair with the other members. If you're it's your first request, you can leave it as it is. Please be honest, if we find out that you'll link it to an older thread you requested from the past, we can simply give out warnings or either restrict you from requesting again from this section.

Attention!
- Please provide your forum URL at all times.

Yeah, in other words, just place it. That way you don't get a warning or restricting you from requesting, mate.

Just fill out the first impression part, ignore everything else since you're just doing a quick review.

I have a question..why don`t you review forums that are made in other languages?
I understand that it would be hard for you to rate originality, but you could always review graphic and activity.. and maybe even tell something about the usergropus..

While I'm not an official forumotion reviewer I have been doing these reviews for quite a few months now and from my personal experience. It would be so hard to gauge anything about the forum and take in other factors which contribute to activity and graphics as well as the usergroups for example a foreign RPG forum would be so hard to do a review because you use multiple usergroups that I can't read. Even translators and other things wouldn't give an accurate transcript.

When I do my reviews I take into account what the forum is about not just basic activity and graphics etc. Also the issue of navigating a forum in a different language would be hard and if a forum didn't have just a basic navigation bar it would be tricky. Overall it would be too hard.
