Solved Re: Twitter and facebook

Post by Adam360 September 13th 2010, 10:01 pm

Facebook = It's a problem with facebook, so forumotion team will not be able to help you, although we can give you advice, Try activating your Facebook account as much as possible i.e, activation email, start subjects, etc,

Twitter = Make a wiget on your forum for affiliates, and place the following code in the HTML section provided,

Code:
href="URL TO YOUR TWITTER PAGE" title="Follow us on Twitter"><"http://i11.servimg.com/u/f11/11/71/42/99/twitte10.png"></a>&nbsp; &nbsp; <a

NOTE: I'm only just starting to learn HTML, so if you have any problems with that code, ask one of the friendly members from forumotion, i reccomend Gangsta because he always comes to my rescue =]

Hope all goes well,
Adam.

If you place your twitter page's URL in the place where it says "URL TO YOUR TWITTER PAGE" then it will link directly to your twitter page.

It will show up where you have placed the widget, if the widget doesn't show up, got to ACP > Modules > Forum wiget management > depending if you want it on the left or right, change the width column to 180 pixels

(Width column 1 being the left, Width column 3 being the right hand side of your forum)

@Gangsta, would it work if i removed the "<a" from the end?

No, you will need to change your skin as the member who uploaded that skin has done so with Photobucket and gone over his/her bandwidth and unfortunately, there is nothing forumotion can do.

Changing the skin will easily sort this problem out though =]

Easy as the last one, only i'll be using Gangsta's code this time =P

Code:
<a href="[u]YOUR OTHER WEBSITE'S URL[/u]"><img src="[u]IMAGE WANTED BY YOU, (CAN BE REQUESTED IN THE GRAPHICS REQUESTS SECTION)[/u]" border="0" alt="[u]Hover button, for example, (FOLLOW US ON TWITTER)"[/u]"></a>

Change the sections which are between the speech marks
for example "YOUR INFO HERE"

You can use host an image which is on all forumotion forums, just browse your documents for the picture wanted, and click host, then get the url of the picture,

If you have chrome, you can simply right click the picture you want, either from your forum or your documents and clcik copy url of image, this will then allow you to post the URl of the image into the HTML code above.

Hope this helps,
