Just one simple question-Can I use my own code to remove ads?
Hi forum admin,
I'm here asking that: If I can use my code to block the ads, can I do it? Will my forum be affected by it? Or will I get banned by that?
Regards,

Hi, your title being non explicit and therefore not facilitating research via the search option, I'm not answering (nor is any other member) until you change your title for an explicit one, related to your problem
Why we ask for explicit titles
Why we ask for explicit titles
The forum's search engine bases its research on keywords found in topic titles.
When you do a research, do you use "help", "urgent", "problem", "SOS" or "question" as keywords to look for topics about your problem/question?
Certainly not! So this is why it is important to use titles related to your problem/question. Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.
Thanks for your understanding.

Well, I think that that isn't allowed. Why would you pay for removing ads if there's code for removing it manually?

Well thanks everyone for answering me. But I need official answer: Will my forum be affected if I remove ads by myself?

Hi,
I doubt any code will work - You have to purchase the removal of adds in order to insert your own.
I doubt your forum would be affected/reprimanded/banned/ect.

Its actually very easy to remove them. It just take two lines of jQuery code in the templates to remove both ads in the page. However, it will be violating the Forumotion's Terms of Service where it clearly states that "... it is forbidden to remove or hide the sponsored links through any means other than the one provided, namely the credits management." This means that Forumotion has the right to terminate the account if they wish to. If this becomes widespread, I am sure that they will take action. If anyone is serious about their forum, they should buy credits to get rid of the ads, at least for their members. At the moment, its about U$1 per month. They may regret it later if they lose their forum. If they can't afford it now, they may temporarily remove them (if the ads are too unsavory and puts off people from visiting their forum) but when their site takes off and becomes popular then they should do the right thing and invest in it. They can always request donation from members to keep the site ad-free
