Post numbers on BB2 version forum?

There doesn't seem to be post numbers, or a thing you click on that takes you to that individual post.

I was wondering if there was something I could do so that I click on something and it just shows me one post out of a big thread?

Like if I wanted to show someone one of my posts, or someone else's post, I could just give them the link to it.

It would be convenient to have post numbers sometimes.

But for linking to a post, click on the post title to see the URL in the address bar. That will provide you with a link directly to your post.

Thanks for this, but I can't find the code you've posted.

Gone to exactly where you've said, but can't see it.

A lot of L_topics and etc, but no L_POST_SUBJECT.

Can you post your template there between spoiler tags ?

The only thing that seems to have changed is that the 'subject' is now made a link, but when I click it, it takes me to the same thread I'm already on.

EDIT: I get it. It shows the post you select and copy at the top.

Is there any chance of having it so the single post I select appears on its own?

Sorry, no way to do that !

But you can also right click on link and choose "Copy Link URL"
Then paste it where you need it.

If your link finishes with a #number, browser will automatically open the good page, and target post will be the first visible on the window.

The best solution is to stop using the garbage known as phpBB2. PunBB and IPB2/Invision have post numbering built-in, and it's easy to add post numbering to phpBB3.

Now, to add a feature where you click on the post number and it takes you to a page with ONLY that post...it can be done on all but phpBB2 boards, but you need to know advanced javascript and be able to think outside the box.

I agree with Dion, stop using phpbb2 and upgrade to an Invision board. You will at least have post numbering this way. And like he mentioned, with some expert javascript, you can even have clickable posts that display ONLY that post!

I would do, but I like the phpbb2 version because the avatar is to the left.

I've not known many forums to have all the information to the right. Makes it more difficult to understand who has made the post.

This is possible and it's even in the admin panel to select which side your profiles are on in the ACP.
