Solved Flashing Private Message (words )

I was wondering if it is possible for the words in the navbar - You have no new messages to flash when a new PM comes in.

I added this in my css -

ul.navlinks span.new-message {
color: #FF0000;
text-decoration:blink;
}

but doesn't work. I have PunBB.
