    First topic message reminder :

    Hello,

Do you see a grammar error or miss spelling? Post the original piece along with the correct version.

To ensure that its being looked at and to help locate this issue, please provide a screenshot and the location.

    Example:

Admin Panel >> General >> Configuration

As of right now, this topic will only support English languages. Once we have more translators, the language will be added to the list. Not all translations will be updated right away as it will be reviewed before going public to ensure the updated version is correct.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

Thanks for your proposal. We avoid to make too much Italic and blod tags. However, I have transferred your request. We'll take it into account.

I don't mean to make them bold/italic on the website, I just did it so you can see the modifications without reading too much.

    Thanks for putting it forward.

I found a couple of things while reading the Terms of Services: https://www.forumotion.com/terms-of-service

    Under section RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under section ILLICIT CONTENTS:

Under section LIMITATIONS OF THE SERVICES:

Under RESPECT OF THE COPYRIGHTS AND BRANDS:

    • The underlined texts should be removed.
    • The bolded letter should be lowercased. I also see the word "illegal" capitalized throughout the whole document when it shouldn't be, so I think that's something that should be fixed.
    • The italic text should be changed.

       - "identifies" should be "identify"

    • The bold and italic text should have a word added or have the text changed.

    - "are" should be "is"
     - "under age" should be "under the age"
     - "forumotion.com is entirely free site." should be "forumotion.com is an entirely free site."
     - "texts, images" should be "texts or images"
     - "in front court of law" should be "in front of a court of law"
     - "his" should be "its" (Since I believe it is referring to the company.)

    -------

During the process of deleting my forum, I found this. This is when you type DELETE to delete your forum, this message shows:

"We remind you that the deletion will be take into account only once you confirm it by cliking on link on the confirmation email."

    Suggested fixes:
only once changed to "only when"
cliking on link on changed to "clicking on the link in"

Therefore, the message would look like this.

"We remind you that the deletion will be take into account only when you confirm it by clicking on the link in the confirmation email."

In a legal documentation, such as a Terms of Service, this is correct, if it were not capitalised, then the document would not be so official; I would not change it.

I think the 'Forum Terms Of Service' could do with a little revamp for the English version, some of it does read a little as if it's been translated in google (no offence intended).

The moderators of this forum will try hard to edit or remove reprehensible (replace with 'inappropriate or offensive') messages as soon as possible. However, it is impossible for them to review all the messages. You thus admit (replace with 'therefore accept') that all the messages posted on this forum express the sight and opinion of their respective authors and not those of the moderators or the Webmaster (except messages posted by them) and consequently, they cannot be held responsible of the discussions.

This forum uses cookies to store information on your computer. These cookies will not contain any personal information; they are only used to improve comfort while browsing (replace with 'your browsing experience'). The address e-mail (replace with 'Your e-mail address') is only used in order to confirm the details of your registration as your password (and also to send you back your password if you forget it).

The following paragraph really doesn't read well at all. I have made a suggestion of a complete re-write beneath it.

    - Aggressive or slanderous messages, as well as personal insults and critics, the coarseness and vulgarities, and more generally any message contravening the French laws are prohibited.
    - Messages who promote - or evoke - illegal practices are prohibited.
    - If you post informations which come from another site
, look first if the site in question doesn't forbid it. Show the address of the site in question in order to respect the work of their administrators!
    - Please post your messages only once. The repetitions are unpleasant and useless!
    - Please make an effort on grammar and spelling. SMS-style language (ex: r u sk8ing?) is not advised!

    An alternative:-

     - Aggressive and/or abusive messages will not be tolerated. Flaming, sexual, racial, religious or any other kind of abusive messages will be removed and may result in the member being banned from the forum.

     - Messages which promote or infer illegal activity are prohibited

     - If you post information from another site it is your sole responsibility to ensure you have the relevant permission to do so.

     - Please post your message only once. Duplicating messages is unnecessary and can spoil the experience of other members

(This paragraph also needs to be re-worded:- suggestion below it.)

Any message contravening the listing above will be edited or removed without additional notice or justification within deadlines which will depend on the availability of the moderators. Any abuse will involve the cancellation of the registration. Internet is neither an anonymous space, nor a space of no-right! We reserve ourselves the possibility of informing your access provider and/or the legal authorities of any malevolent behavior. An IP address of each poster is recorded in order to help us to make you respect these conditions.

Messages that do not comply with the 'Forum Terms Of Service' will be removed as soon as possible by the moderators. Persistent abuse will result in the cancellation of your registration.

You should be aware and understand that the internet is not an anonymous space. We collect IP addresses from each registration and for each post which will be passed on to the relevant authorities where we feel that civil or criminal laws have been broken.

Some wording in this final part also needs some changes:-

By clicking on " I agree to these terms " below:

    - You acknowledge to have fully read these current rules;

Change To: - 'You acknowledge that you have and accept the above terms of service'

    - You commit yourself to respect unreservedly these current rules;
    - this not required as it is already agreed in the first line
    - You grant the moderators of this forum the right to delete, move or edit any discussion subject at any moment. (change to 'without notice')

These changes would make the 'Terms Of Service' more coherent for English users and would be clearer to all users.

Well this is a little different but when you are marked as hidden it says "unknown". "Never" has the first letter capitalized and "unknown" does not so it looks weird.

forumotion.com has a typo as well. It says "clics" instead of "clicks". It is near the top of the page.

On the last online section on Memberlist. If someone is set to "hide online status" it shows "unknown" instead of "Unknown".

This is small but existing widgets differ in capitalization. The ChatBox widget is shown as "chatbox" meanwhile others are titled like "Recent topics". Also the "Most Viewed Topics" wodget has each first letter capitalized which differs from every single widget that contains more than one word.

Also not sure but I believe the ChatBox was labeled as "Chatbox" while at the bottom of the page it says "ChatBox".

Spelling error in the Terms of Service:
    - If you post informations which come from another site
, look first if the site in question doesn't forbid it. Show the address of the site in question in order to respect the work of their administrators!

    Should say:
    - If you post information which comes from another site, look first if the site in question doesn't forbid it. Show the address of the site in question in order to respect the work of their administrators!

Information is already plural, unlike in French.

When you send a newsletter that has a too short or long title, you get an error message.  In the error message, it says that the subject of the newsletter is too short or too long....

The word subject should be change to title.  Subject sounds like what is exactly in the newsletter, not its title.
