do we want a proper recyle bin like other forum providers.
Proper Recycle bin needed.
Whilst away, someone accidently deleted a current topic from my forum, and ok I could upload a backup, but it would then cause other post missing issues in other topics, so what I'm really saying is Forumotion really need a proper, for all deleted posts and topics recycle bin.
Something that stands out so if someone does accidently delete a topic it has somewhere to go rather than into oblivion ( to a mod )
Anyone agree.

I like this idea. But you need to add a poll so we can vote yes or no in this topic. Just edit your original post.

I like this idea, but you could always remove the delete thread button.

Re: Proper Recycle bin needed.
Why can't you just create your own recycle bin that only admins/mods can see?

I like your idea too LH, but a recycle bin might be more useful to be honest.
KOS, I've tried making a recycle bin, but it will only work with posts. One of my mods accidently deleted over 20 pages of a topic

Re: Proper Recycle bin needed.
Much better than the basket! Especially if it still keeps post counts until and Admin/Mod has a chance to clean out the recycling bin, and decide whether or not to move certain deleted things to the basket.
Great idea!

Yeah, but if you get rid of the delete button he can't really do that.sluzza wrote:I like your idea too LH, but a recycle bin might be more useful to be honest.

But when you want to delete a topic, Like Happy Birthday to ........... I wouldn't want to have to do it by deleting every post one at a time.

Then you'll still have the delete activated and anyone can just go to the delete topic link. Yes?LH Justin wrote:I like this idea, but you could always remove the delete thread button.
It wouldn't take long to add a simple trash can function to trash topics. It would just need a MOVE function from forum a to forum b.

You got my vote
If you look in most forum sites they have a Mods CP so all you have to do is make a MCP and then add it there that way if a mod was ro remove a post and wants to put it back it would be there for him / her
im sure with all the updates this site has seen im sure this would not be hard to add

only one little problem in the mods tools there would still be a DELETE tool for the mods aswellLH Justin wrote:I like this idea, but you could always remove the delete thread button.

Who would go through the trouble of doing that?ChatSource wrote:Then you'll still have the delete activated and anyone can just go to the delete topic link. Yes?LH Justin wrote:I like this idea, but you could always remove the delete thread button.

And we already have a function that does exactly what you described.
What do you mean by a MCP? Any and all updates here are done with pure CSS and JavaScript. We can't just slap on a MCP because it requires access to the database.ape man wrote:You got my voteonly one little problem in the mods tools there would still be a DELETE tool for the mods aswellLH Justin wrote:I like this idea, but you could always remove the delete thread button.
