Administration panel is faulty?

When i access my admin panel. evertime i click on a section e.g. catergories and forums, i have to click like 5 times before it goes there, it just loads the general section (home section) each time, then i have to go back into the section i want again, even when i edit a forum or sumthing it sumtimes saves but most times it goes back to general (home page) in the admin panel and i have to start again?

please help so annoying and slow.

Try a different browser and clean out you history.

Nope it hasnt been lately its been since the 1st time iv tryd to make forum which was a few months ago, did the same thing then also

I do not think it is the panel that is faulty, are you an administrator on any other forumotion forum?

Nope just this one, i tryd the different browser still same thing? My frend also tryd to create a site on forumotion and he had same problem ?

I got the site up and running but trying to save things is a mission it works 1 out of like 20 times i try save it

The only thing I think you can do is either send typlo a PM or see if you can get into another admin panel to see if it is faster there.

you could create a test forum to see if it is the admin panel.

Has it anything to do with the internet connection, is yours a DSL?
When your internet keeps getting connected & disconnected, that is what happens. Has happened to me quite a few times.

I have adsl, iv been on another forum, tryed it also, same problem.

Sum1 said that the administration panel problem i have was a bug that happened with phpBB2, and it was fixed with the new phpbb3 that came out? i just switched over to the phpbb3 now via using the "display" theme version and changed to phpbb3 but i still have same problem?

My frend hosted a test forum also, adsl, he has same problem with admin panel.

I too am running on adsl 2+, do you keep getting dc & reconnect?
Thats the most probable reason for the problem, coz most of the members who have broadband don't seem to have such problems.

No i dont loose connection, its very stable, but what i have noticed just by playing around now that it has sumthing to do with the cookies??

Everytime i clear cookies it allows me to move around freely in admin panel for about 40 seconds then it starts taking me back to home page everytime i try click around, then when i clear cookies it seems to work?

Im also having to log onto the forum every 2mins now that iv changed to phpbb3 ?

Yes you can clear cookies, once in a while.
Also do ctrl + f5.

Don't you save your password for your account, never happened that you get logged out of the forum. Unless your internet goes down, & you don't keep your browser to remember the password.

It not working again? Must of been luck, coz i tryd to set my widgets now but everytime i try save it takes me back to the home page in admin panel then if i try click modules to go back there i have to click it like 10 times to get back onto it then when i click widgts it takes me back to the homepage?

Try restarting your computer. Then try, see if it helps a little.

Nope no luck so annoying coz i really like the forum but to make it user frendly is hard coz i cant modify things quick and easy and i dont wana use another forum

1- go to ur forum [but u should be log out]
2 copy the pics and icons and make it into folder in ur pc
3-go create new forum and copy the pics and the icons into ur new website
4-invite the friends!!

I think you should contact one of the Administrators to help you out. I do not think there is alot I can help you with now.

Have you exceeded you internet usage amount?
or got a slow connection?

These are 2 common mishaps that can cause this.

if you are going <100 KBS it will take a few minutes to load the admin panel.

Also, check your computer for any virus' or spyware, as they have been known to slow ur connection down, hence slowing ur load time


I know that a virus / spyware is unlikely to cause a problem on a forum, but its happened to me before, and many of my friends too.

Na i got a 1mg line,

My virus is turned off, my admin panel isnt slow, it just doesnt go to the section i click on, like e.g. if i want to click on general section, if i click it , it doesnt says loading but then doesnt load the general page it loads the home page again.

Then i keep trying eventually when i get in, if i click on .e.g. catergories and forums, its says loading, then takes me to home page again, then i have to keep trying to get back there with out it loading the home page each time.

Try using a different comp and see if you still have this problem.

Ya i did i used my frends PC and i used mt laptop same thing

if this is a case some time go run tpye in prefetch
and delete ctrl + a

and delete them all and recycle them in the bin

it mout help or do a system restore on your pc
