Displaying the last topic in category forum like this

I try to make the category forum like 1,2,3,4,5,6,etc (like in the picture, this picture i get it from someone boards), and i made it but it's seems the last topic not displaying on mine... can anyone help me?

Note:
when i create the forum category:
Forum name : i use <a href =" (i use this to make it blank...bcoz if i not fill the name it can't be save )
Description : i made a table with 2 colum and 2 row and then i fill the code with

I think this is what you're looking for, if not please clarify a little more. Go to admin panel->general->hierarchy(in the homepage section) then scroll down to near the bottom and there is an option that says Show the last topic titles on index, just set that to yes and hit save. Hopefully that is what you're trying to do.

err this is not what i looking for travis... maybe the way i used to display 1,2,3,4,5,6 is wrong... (i use those code into the description of sub category and i create the table)
this is my result

so...if i post in one of link in there.... the post,topics,las topics always shown blank...

I understand what you did, so are those links you created in the table forums inside that sub-category? If so, what I said to do should work great; however, if they are forums in some other category it won't update like you want it to. The last replied to topic will show up for forums under that category only.

yeah correct travis, i put it on sub category, oohh.. i see... so my way to show it the topic,post, last posted is useless? Hmmm is there another way to make it like the first picture i upload in this topic?
