IP Display problem?

On the main page of my forum i want user's to know that thier IP Address can/will be noted/logged how can this be done? I've seen it done on other forums but can't do it on mine?

Well when i visited a forum before i did anything it told me my IP Address and that it was noted i was just wondering how that was possible and how i could add it to my forum

Did it actually show your Ip address? If it did it's probably a HTML code for that but unfortunately I don't know it.

Yes it did it was right there on the main page stating my IP Address and that it was noted im not sure of the site but i'll try and find it and you can have a look yourself.

well i've looked at this and makes no sense to me. does the guest viewing the forum only get to see their ip or can admin see it too? it appears to me that the guest gets a message telling them what their ip is but no one else.

and i wouldn't have a clue where to place that on the forum.
