Music on my forum

I would like a song on my forum to start when a member signs in, I feel it is to technical for me to do. I wonder if anyone had the expertise and could offer to do it for me. Thanks Maggie:D

Hello..to add a music player it's very simple

BUT, BE AWARE THAT THE MUSIC MUST BE FREE NOT COPY WRITED

you can put the player either on the homepage only, or on all pages..

here is the code of the microsoft free player

copy this code to a text file or something and edit it by placing the URL of your music file instead of the current default mp3 address

to place the code (after modifying it) follow these step:

to put it just in the very first page of the forum only:

1-admin panel (old version)

2-general admin

3-homepage..then paste the code here in that big box in the bottom of the page (the homepage message) BUT remember to click this icon before pasting the code ...save and try

if u want it to be played in all pages follow step number one and two then

3-configuration....here on the right paste the code in the "forum description" field....save and try and tell us

Yes it works! But is it possible to put more than 1 music in it? And is it also possible for it to keep playing instead of stopping everytime we go to another section of the site? Thanx!

yes i admit the player is a cool feature, but is there a way to have it playing through out without stopping when you goto a different forum?

Ok I got it to work but I want to play another song right away after the first one is done. In other words how do I add multiple songs to the player. And sorry to ask for too much but also, how d i get the player to show up on all pages. I put it in the "Site description" text box in General>Homepage> and it doesn't show up at all anywhere on myt site.

Yeah. When you go to Admin>General>Homepage go to the bottomo where you put the HTML. If you can see it right away without clicking anything that means you put it againa in the secttion for text only and not HTML. The section for HTML in that big box is the one with the "GREEN" shadow border. If it's regular erase it from there and leave it in the box with the green border, then save and check you forum again.

you can forget about that I alreay firgured it out. I had to go to Admin>General>Config and put it the site description there.lol. I got it now but thanks anyway if anyone was gooing to answer my message.

But I still want to know how to play multiple songs on the player like playlist or something.

To put it on all the pages you got to go to ADMIN>GENERAL>CONFIGURATION>

and place the HTML in the "Site Description" text box.

At least that's how it worked on mine.

It's been about 4 days and still no reply to "how to put more than 1 song on the music player that I have( it's the one at the top of thos forum):

I really want to know how to do this because my guys can get tired of listening to the same song over and over again. And I want to know how to randomize which song it plays if it's not too much to ask.

ok, the best player to me is www.playlist.com. It's specifically made for getting put on sites, so it has a place where you can change how it looks, if it picks songs randomly or not, and so on, and then put it on your site very easily. And also, it has a "Pop-out player" once you put it on your site, and you can click that and it opens a new small window with your playlist, so that way it keeps on going as you go through your site, and it automatically plays the next song. To me, that's the best music player there is.

how do u use this player

just go to www.playlist.com and then create an account (totally free) and then there should be a place to select create a playlist or something like that. Just click that, and then type in a song you know, and it'll search for that song. Once you find one you like, just click the "+" sign and it'll automatically be added to your playlist. Continue that for everything you want. Then afterwards, if you want to change the order and stuff, you can go to the frontpage of your account there, and it should say, "delete/rearrange music on a playlist", then just drag whatever songs to whatever place you want. Once you want to add it to your site, go back to your account homepage and then select "add your playlist to myspace or facebook" (it really works for everything, don't worry). Then just select what color you want it to be, and if it shuffles the songs or not, and other options. Then select get the code, and then copy and paste the code to where you want it. (I normally put it under Admin Pannel => General => Homepage => Homepage Message, just copy and paste it into there and it should work)

That playlist thing is nice, but it doesnt allow for your own pieces, which is why I am using that first one. But is there a way to make it so that it plays instantly and that the user doesnt have to click play?
