Help Embedding forum into site! Empty Help Embedding forum into site!

Post by myrv March 17th 2008, 1:28 pm

Hi, I would like to embed my forum on to my site (similar to this phpbb website here http://www.phpbb.com/community/) - simply how is this do!

My free phpbb3 forum was setup online at forumotion https://www.forumotion.com/
With this forum I have got 'no download files' or any access to any code!

Also to modify the look of my forum to "look" like the site. How can I get access to edit my
templates overall header/footer .tpl code also how do I include my logo/nav info!

awaiting your reply, thanks

You can't Because you don't necessarily own the forums i think you need to pay for domain name and some other stuff (not that is my opinion im not to sure) Smile

This link may help though Smile http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=574316

Maybe that I don't know
Code:
<iframe
src ="/default.asp"
width="100%">
</iframe>

This is a helpful link: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp

Yeah, you did. The iframe is the best way to embed another webpage.

Also for the OP's question, you don't have access to the db or files that make up your forum. Forumotion owns all that, it is part of the price you pay to have a free site. There are still a lot of things you can do within these limits though to get your forum looking just how you want it.

What do you mean? I just put it on a site, its now on my site. You just put the iframe code on any html page and its there.

ETA: This is the only line of code on that page:

<iframe src="http://computerworld.forumotion.com/index.htm" width="100%" height="100%"/>

You have to use width and height to adjust how big you want the iframe to be. Then it just uses scroll bars to let you move around and see what can't fit in the frame.

Well, you can't go much larger than 100%. There is no langth, or length for that matter, it is height.

Well, thats not an embedded page. That is what was asked in this thread. It is just a different background with a header, and the forum table is a little smaller than you usually see.
