MUSIC ON MY FORUM !! WITH smooth format [solved]

i would like to know some code and some page to put music on my forum , some idea that let me put a simple music . but i dont know a page ... if u got one ... hope it works fast ... cuz i know some pages take long time to hear the music , and this is for the website where u got ur mp3 uploaded , so i need some idea that help me .

other words , which format is the better for my mp3 (smooth format ) , i need to convert or something like that ... and if i need some pluging for my windows media or something . how can i dot this and where can i put it .... i know its a little difficult to understand but try to help me please !! .. thank u so much . greetings

for music on the forum i use www.ning.com just make an ccount, then upload to the music player, click the section to see the embed code for it, and place it in a forum description. It takes some time to upload but once on it plays fine.

Are you meaning you want the music to be playing on all the pages? I don't really know how that works, but here is a code given to me for an embeded player that begins playing the music when a page is loaded. I will be using it on my portal with announcements to visitors.

To hear music on the Homepage, I would put the code in your Homepage message:
Admin> General> Configuration> . . . at the bottom.

Code:

<embed pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" src="http://elvis.13.free.fr/mirage/OST/ost2/19%20-%20Harmonia.mp3" width="0" height="0" type="application/x-mplayer2" autostart="1" showstatusbar="0" volume="1"></embed>

Replace this above in the code: http://elvis.13.free.fr/mirage/OST/ost2/19%20-%20Harmonia.mp3 with your music URL.

I believe folks are passing this request up because between Zinex and myself - you may have your answer.

Do you have your music hosted?

Have you configured an MP3 player and have it ready to work for you?

Then do as Xinex suggests and place this in a forum description. I don't know if placing it in one description will allow it to play in the entire site - you may need to create a spot in each of your forums if you want music ringing throughout the site.

Point is: try to take the advise already offered and IF, you don't find things working . . . come back and tell us what you've done and maybe someone will have more suggestions for you.

And brady . . . around here, it's nice to be courteous and at least appear as though you're not ignoring those who are trying to help you. You'll always get better response that way.

Good luck - and let us know what is not working after you've exhausted the advise already given.

Now a put the code Site Description of my forum , but the link from Zinex doesnt help me , cuz the code is pretty big for the way ...
so i dont know what else to do , i would like that u tell me about those spots , and explication about how to get this , please can u put the steps clearly .

Hi brady!

I am no expert here by far - but I was just trying to get you to tell us what you've already done so we could go from there.

Putting music in ALL the forums at once by finding *one* place to put it . . . I think that is impossible. I tried putting my file in my Homepage message - but it will only be heard ON the Homepage (index). It's the best place to put it though, other than the portal. To put it on the portal, you need to make a module:-)

All I can do is show you what I've done. I don't want to give my URL out publicly because really, I'm not open for business yet! I'll PM you my portal URL so you can see this code in action:-)

Here is the code:

*When you use this code, you replace the red part with the URL of YOUR music MP3 file.

*The height and width are set to "0" and that is what makes this player invisible.

*I think the autostart="1" is what makes this player loop just once.

Sunny D .. . how can we make this code play continuously?



This is what I think you should do until we find out more . . .

Go to . . Administration > General > Homepage > Homepage Configuration.
Scroll down until you find: Homepage Message (If you've already put info here, that won't matter - just put the code at the bottom under whatever else is there:-) If you don't have anything there - you need to write out a title, such as Greetings or whatever you'd care to say.

Then paste *the code with your MP3 URL* into the text box and click save.

Go to your Homepage, and the music *should* start playing within a few seconds - like mine does.

Morning brady!

Well, I am hosting my Mp3 at Google! You need an account, then they allow you to set up a free webpage where you can host files.

*Go here to create an account with Google: Welcome to gmail

*Once you have your gmail account, then go here: Sign in to Google Page Creator with your Google account

*On the right of the page, you'll see Page Creator settings > click on that.
From the new page, click on the icon: Create a New Page and just make it simple, like brady's MP3 page.

*Once you have your page made - look over to the right again, and notice: Upload Stuff. Upload your MP3 file. Click on it and a new page will load. Copy the URL of that address and THAT is the URL for your MP3!

Whoa, lots of steps. Hope I've described them well. let me know .. .

Hey - one more thing . . . I gave another member here an address for *old school* MP3 players. I believe there was info for storage there too. You may want to check this out: MySpace Music Player

Hey brady!

It looks to me as though you have 100 mb for the whole site. It says I'm using 0% of my 100 mb . . . so I assume they mean the actual webspace - and not including the files (makes no sense to me, but I only have the one MP3 so far:-)

As for publishing a page (or several pages, lol!) . . . tick the box next to your file and then click on publish. You should see a URL just like I have there in the picture.

try dizzly.com they have great players, with music downloaders and playlists etc all integrated into the player. also multiple skins so you can integrate it the best you can in your board
