Infraction System

Instead of permanently banning a member from your forum, I was thinking of an implementation of the infraction system.

Infractions are points that are issued to members for breaking rules. After a certain number of points, consequences set it. Such as a warning, suspension, or even a permanent ban.

When an admin or mod issues an infraction, they fill in a small form. This explains what rule the member broke, and then it stays on that member's account for a certain length of time.

Here's how it would work:

Offensive Language
Number of points (infractions): 1
Warning First

Spamming
Number of points: 5
Warning First

I realize this may have been discussed before, but what do you think?

Whats the difference in making a personal profil called warning and adding/taking away points for rule breaking??
Thats what we have but for spamming we just give a automatic ban

It's much easier than doing it through custom profiles (Admin Panel -> Users & Groups -> Profile), and most likely more stable.
