Solved reactivated forum = missing admin panel

Post by rd November 29th 2011, 4:57 pm

    First topic message reminder :

Shut down forum yesterday. Reactivated but admin/moderator don't have access to admin panel. Suggestions?

    Yes, she checked. No confirmation.

But at this point we'd like to restore the topics if possible and close the board to the public until ready to relaunch.

Is there a reason my name is in blue on the member list and I'm listed as mod/admin but can't access any tools? She tried to reactivate me but nothing's happened in terms of being able to access the admin area. You can see my name RD in blue here - http://jrmanonymous.forumotion.co.uk/memberlist?mode=lastvisit&order=DESC&start=50&username

The *only* reason why you can't access the admin panel is because you're not in the original admin group. From experience, the blue name is 'moderators' group. If you can't moderate then the founder may have removed the permissions.

Like I said before, to restore any topics the founder will need to use the utilities and perform a forum restore.

Okay, thanks! We'll try the utilities/restore and see if that works.

Not sure what you mean by "original admin group".

You can see here that I am in 2 groups, still today. Admin and moderator. But can't see any ways to access.

The original admin group has an ID of 1. So on your forum, does the link http://jrmanonymous.forumotion.co.uk/g1- have you in it?

This is what I see when I go to that link:

But no links on anything related to moderating or administering. I need to ban old members, something I was able to do as moderator until the reactivation yesterday, and can't see any links. Suggestions? The founder already reactivated me this AM.

And you're sure that you can't access the admin panel using the link: http://jrmanonymous.forumotion.co.uk/admin ?

Yes. When I go to that page I get the message that I am not allowed to administer.

Kind of ridiculous, no? Told you, there's something very wrong with the programming for the forum.

    Any other suggestions?

Okay, thanks. There is a bug in your programming. We finally restored all our content and deleted the members. Please feel free to turn off this thread.

    Appreciate your efforts.
