No you can't. Why? Because shortcuts can be used only when the image is hosted on your site. 
Like:
/imageXXXXXX.JPG means yourforumurl/imageXXXXXX.JPG. My reply is No, you can't, I'm sorry.

No. I using imgur more than a year and never seen a delted image.
