How do I add people to forum once it is set to private

I have set my forum to private, how do I add people to the forum once it is set to private.

Hi, you can't add people to the forum. New members must register or you can register for them and then give the password to them. If that's not what you meant, then could you rephrase your question or explain further? Thanks.

I have set my forum to private and I have new members joining up which makes it 8 members on the forum but in the members list I can only see 6 members. So can people still join up even though the forum is set to private, will they be able to see what is posted on the forum

It all depends on your forum permissions.

You can totally lock out registrations which means that no more members can register any more and only current members can access the forum.

Unregistered will not be able to view your forum if you set up the correct permissions in the forum settings at:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Categories and forums (on the left, under Forum)
4. Select permissions sign ( ) on a forum
