Embedding YouTube videos and complying with ToS

Hello. There is something that I do not understand. Are you allowed to embed videos from YouTube? If not, why are there multiple threads walking people step-by-step on how to do it? What exactly violates the ToS?

You can do YouTube videos, but if they're not by you I guess just give credit to whoever made the video.

You are allowed to post only official video clips. Also, if you made a video tutorial for your forum, or just a video by you, you can upload it, and post on your site, of course. But, be sure, if you use a background music, you should put the name of that music in video.

Okay, that makes more sense. I thought it was completely against the rules or something. I will make sure that my members appropriately give credit to any video they embed.
