Solved [solved]Icon Link had malware (thanks slg!)

Post by ShinGamix April 22nd 2012, 4:06 am

how to search css for a link or site that contains malware to remove it. I went to my css stylesheet and put in what google read
activestim.com but I can't get the search to find it in the css
    I just want it gone
So if a staff member could just find it and point it out for me.
slg did this for me once but I dont know how he did it.

I would like to remove it and learn how to find it on my own so I don't hae to bother a mod for help if this happens again.
I will be waiting here for an answer.

sorry forgot to link to my forum
    http://shingamix.forumotion.com/

I can't find it to remove it.

Please change the title of your topic, that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.

are you sure it's in your css?
Go through your css sheet and look for the link, if a link is in there it wont be hard to see..

Other then that i need more info on what your site is doing, if you have added any other coding scripts lately and what gives you the impression it is in your css and not somewhere else?

I'll go to your site now and see if i get anything out of the ordinary.

    info added
oh you have the forum under processing a maintenance.
So let us know how you make out with it.

I took it out of maintenance but google still says it has a site known for malware to it something about activestim.com and I am not sure if it is in css or where it is. It is still there and I don't know how to remove it. Please help! Havent added much of anything except maybe a few posts lately.

and here is what it reads

help.forumotion.com contains content from www.activestim.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.
We have already notified www.activestim.com that we found malware on the site. For more about the problems found on www.activestim.com, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page.

If you understand that visiting this site may harm your computer, proceed anyway.

So is it your help page?

The way I do it is by going to your forum and right clicking on the forum. Then press the view source link on my browser. Then I use the search option to locate the link.
