FM Chat constantly saying 'new message'

Followed this tutorial:

On my site: http://naruto-role-play-rpg.forumotion.com/ even though I'm not logged into the FM Chat, it constantly says 'new message' when someone posts until I refresh the page. Is there any way to make it so that when the message is viewed or the chat itself is viewed, the message goes?

Just tried that. It still stays.

EDIT: Now when I refresh, it still remains as 'new message' even if nobody else has posted

I've tried that. No matter what combination of input box presses is done, no matter who sends what message and when or whether I log in and out of the chatbox and no matter what else, it still stays. I think it's something that needs to be seen for itself to be believed, really. There may be some conflicting code in the CSS of this site for example that another site doesn't have.
