Old usernames are already taken

Our members have been unable to register with the new site using their old usernames. They have not already been used by another person.

Could somebody please tell me how this had happened and how to fix it? Thanks

Try this: Go to Administration Panel => General => Forum => Security => Security Administration => Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : No => then save it !

I have search on the same problem as you're encouter right now, please follow and do all as what all said there and if all of those won't work maybe it should be forwarded to the Pro-Admin, here's the link: https://help.forumotion.com/t102015-username-unavalible-but-it-is?highlight=Username+taken

Hi,

One quick thing to add. You have to activate their accounts. If you want to change the setup when they register, they activate the account themselves by going through email. Or activate by itself. To change that method

ACP >> Users & Groups >> Users options >>  New accounts activation :
Automatic activation [] User [] Admin []
