Hi I was wondering if there was a way that you could get rid of the text above the "message" box in reply/quote mode? Heres a screenshot of what text I dont want to show up:

You can probably edit that in ACP > Display > Templates > Post & Private Messages > Posting_body

Yeah it can most likely be done that way, But let me try something on my test forum with css first and see if that dose the trick. If not then i will check out the template possibility.
Info added
This is something that appears/hovers over any of the options you can add,
Like if you go over the different things like colors text etc.. it changes and tells you what it is.
So i am not sure how to get rid of that,It would be silly to do so because it helps members know whats what when they are creating a topic or replying to one, If here is a way to get rid of it then my guess it would be in the template.. But not sure? i will have to have a look at it.

Thing is kirk, whenever I do go over a thing like that, it moves the page down. It gets very annoying, because it keeps moving the page up and down.kirk wrote:Mr. Eddster wrote:Akkii wrote:You can probably edit that in ACP > Display > Templates > Post & Private Messages > Posting_body

Ohhh wait one sec. I got a better idea. There surely has to be a way to move the message and smiley box DOWN, right? Because if I move the message and smiley box down, then there wouldnt be a problem with the page moving up and down!

Hi,
Would you like it where you have highlighted in the screeenshot, or where forumotion has?
It's a fairly simple edit as well

To find the smiley box, put this in the search box: </fieldset>
You should see just above it some details about the smiley box.
OK. I'm not sure if you can modify that message (I thought you wanted to add something) so I'll need to go over the template and experiment a little bit. I won't be able to do it until tomorrow however as I'm supposed to be working all night tonight.

you can move things around in the template to a certain extent.
I mean it depends what where, And i dont know what you mean by it';s making the page/message jump around.
Is this just something happening to you.. have you tried different browser,
Other then that if you do just want to try to move the smiles down etc, locate it where Darren has said and try to add a line break or two. <br>
However it is hard to tell what would work and what would not without doing it my self seeing whats what, I will also try to make a lil time to check it out, But i wish i understood more of why your page would be jumping/moving with the hover-over?

But to simplify this to the least possible extent, all I want to do is know how to move the message box, and smiley box down. Thats all I want to know lol. That would fix the problem

I do not know exactly how you wat to move it down.
If you can point out what it looks like know and what you are trying to do.
I really do not see why it would have to be moved down so am confuseed

Kirk, I think it would be easier to see for yourself what I mean. Can I give you an admin account, and you can come on my forum to see what I mean?kirk wrote:can you give us screen examples.

So, as I gave you the location to look before, I'm guessing that you haven't done anything
If you edit the template: Posting_body, put this in the search box: 'helpbox'
You should come to these two lines:
In the line above it that's empty, simply put in a line break, or as many as you like
If you edit the template: Posting_body, put this in the search box: 'helpbox'
You should come to these two lines:
- Code:
<div class="left"><span id="helpbox" class="helpline"></span></div> <!-- must enclose helpbox in a floating div for ie bug -->
<div class="clear"></div>
In the line above it that's empty, simply put in a line break, or as many as you like
- Code:
<br />

It will force everything to move down as many lines as you put in.

Thanx darren that should do it,
I dint have time before to go in and find where it was then got confused on what he was trying to move down, However i did mention it should be as easy as adding a line break .
cool beans.

Removing those two lines would actually cause Javascript errors every time you hovered over a BBcode button. Not that could cause too much of an issue, but its bad practice.
If someone was to hover over a button before all the Javascript on the page had executed though it would potentially halt the javascript engine and cause issues.
A better solution would just be sticking the a style="display:none" attribute

See, I didn't investigate it, I just did a quick test and didn't see any issues on Pun. If it was wanted to be removed, I'd have investigated it to make sure that there wasnt any JS issues.
Thanks for that though LG, Ill be keeping a record of it haha.

I then deleted the 2 line breaks, and the text is still there.
Double Edit: Lol nvm I fixed it! This problem is solved, thank you very much Darren!!!
Triple Edit!?: Darren! When I edit my signature in my profile, that text still shows up! WHich template do I edit! I went to profile=>Signature and i searched helpbox but nothing showed up! How do I get rid of that text plz?

No worries
Did you simply want the text moved down? You did confuse me as well haha.
The template your after is Profile > Signature
But I don't think there's anything to modify it there, so Ill leave you in the capable hand of either LG or RD
