Well we have a small games section in our forums and recently we noticed the original posts were getting deleted every time a new post was made.

We are therefore wondering how many posts before this begins to happen?

They do not get deleted. The original topic will get locked and a new topic will be created automatically when you reach the limit.

Well the were disappearing. From my forums starting posts because I was watching it happen for awhile to be sure. Anyway it is a game so it's not the end of the world.

So I have a few question about that link Nera kindly provided.

1) When it says the basic limit for messages is 8 million is that overall messages? from every forum and every category.

2) If you reach 8Million messages, what happens? Will it automatically be increased to 4 billion messages? Or do you have go through some process to get new limits?

3) What happens if you exceed the 4 Billion?

Once 990 posts are reached in a thread, the next posts are added in a new thread.
