Also see what options wordpress is providing when you upload images.
It shoukld say bbcode for websites and forums, html direct link etc..

Be sure to always use the code for websites and or forums if one is provided.

be sure you have always allow bbcode selected in your profile prefernces, and that you are also not selecting disable bbcode in your message. check all your settings once again as well.
