Solved Image Host Recommendations for larger files?

Post by Guest Sun 5 Aug - 16:24

I'm having an annoying problem with Servimg recently, and that is that, when uploading a fairly large .png picture, it'll lose it's transparency. I basically just can't upload any good-sized .png files without them ending up getting screwed in the process.

Does anyone know of an imagehost that'll allow you to upload a close to 3GB picture without the image getting modified in the process?

Sorry, I thought that since this isn't a forumotion-related problem I should post it in the general discussion Razz

Well, it's kinda indirectly related to me working on my site I suppose, haha.

Well, I set the compression level to zero in GIMP. Maybe I should compress a little. I'm a quality freak.

    Can Servimg handle transparency though?

After setting compression to level 5 the image is just 75Kb Razz

But Servimg still isn't handling the transparency - it adds a black background.

Can you host the file on tinypic.com & check how it appears there?

Looks fine there Very Happy you just reminded me of TinyPic in fact. I used to use it ages ago.

I was surprised when not even Flickr could handle it.

    Thanks!
