    Solved Slideshows

Post by DarkGlow August 20th 2012, 4:20 pm

    Hello,

I'd like to know if it's possible to create a slideshow on my own free forum. I'd like it to be placed on index or below it. Is it possible to place it on index (instead of the main picture at top of the forum) or below it (if it's even possible to be done on my forum)?

If it is possible, could anyone tell me how, please? (the proper place in the admin panel, if it requires CSS, HTML etc etc.)

    Thank you in advance.

    Wink

I'd like to know if there's a version that affects/doesn't allow slideshows to work or if that works in all versions.

The topic may be closed and marked as "Resolved" after an answer. Wink

MODS please realize I am NOT posting this for advertising purposes, I am trying to "HELP" someone here actually. Please do NOT just lock me out again - thank you.

It works in all versions if the Admin has HTML enabled for there forum.

To enable HTML go to AP>>General>>Messages and e-mails>>Configuration>>

On that page tick the box that says "Allow HTML" to "Yes" and save your settings.

Excuse me, I have to change my mind and say it's not completely resolved yet. My apologies.

Thank all of you for attempting to assist me, and you actually did.

@Nera; I picked the WOW slider page. In one of your explanations; it says something in the lines of:

EDIT: I've done the ones I faced problems in, however I still want to ensure on something:

    I'm pretty much in the last part where it says I have to copy a code in the HTML page;

''Than you'll go to AP > Modules > HTML pages managment and add this to your HTML page''.

I had no HTML pages, however I created one. I would like to ensure which circles to tick; there are two of them:

''Do you wish to use your forum header and footer?'' Yes or No?

''Use this page as homepage?'' Yes or No?

''Yes or No'' for both questions and are currently on ''No''.

    - The necessary part I wanna know about is; why didn't the arrows appear on the slideshow? I've done every single step, so now if I, and ofc the members, wish to see the rest of the pictures; we have to click on the circles at top-right, arrows would obviously be better. Any ideas why aren't they appearing?

This picture slider here will change the pictures automatically, its called an "Accordion".

The Tutorial to install the Accordion:

I've got everything going straight forward. I'm extremely grateful for every post.

I've got two last question, excuse me Wink

    1) Well, I've chosen to exchange the WOW slider with the other one, it works just fine. I wish to change the width/height. How may I do that? I'm pretty sure it's within the script/code, however I do not want to mess up.

    2) There are only three pictures in that slider (not WOW slider, remember that!); and I wish to add further pictures. Who could tell me how (I'm sure it's in the script/code as well, I just do not wish to mess up; yet again)?

    Thanks in advance. Smile

Only 3 pictures in what slider? The example accordion? There are 6 pictures in that accordion.

The answer to your question about how many pictures you can add to the Accordion is in this tutorial:

    https://help.forumotion.com/t105962-index-in-accordion

You can add as many as you want. Follow the instructions in the tut above.

Your other question about the size of the Accordion can be changed in the First page of Javascript, in this line of code here:

Change the 960 to whatever you want:
    Code:
    containerWidth : 960,

You're welcome, and feel free to ask more question should you need it. Smile

I appreciate your attempt, however I spoke about the nivo slider. I do not know if all slideshows work the same way, I used Javascript for it as well. I've got an answer for my first question, however not a complete one to number two.

    Thanks, mate.

If Nera could at least see this; I want to add further pictures (as there are only 3 at the moment in the code), and I want to know how to exactly add.

POST EDIT; I found out how.

Thank each and everyone of you for assisting. This may be locked.

Just to post the solution. Simply add this code in the homepage message. It adds another picture.
    Code:
