Adding categorys

Whenever I try to add categorys it doesnt show on home page, I try adding it through general then categories and forums but it wont show up when I add it, any help?

Thats what I've been doing but for some reason it wont show up on home page

Display>structure & hierarchy
Split categories on Index : Medium
Save.

Sad to say, the categories I make will not show up on home page

Try creating a forum for the category, it may not show until it has a forum in its category.

Still wont work, even adding mutiple categorys will still not show up on home page

Can you post the URL of your forum so we can have a look?

Do you understand what I mean my creating a forum inside the category? A category and forum are 2 different things.

Wow, for some reason it just suddenly worked, i ont know why it didnt work before but it just did.
