Solved help with google translate, please..

Post by luohanfan September 7th 2012, 2:08 pm

i had google translate on phpbb2 added to templates..
How do i add this to my board now that ive swapped to invision?

I need this fast as ive lost a lot of viewers already, a lot of people that browse my board don't speak english..

this is what i need to add...

Copy and paste the following code snippets onto every page you want to translate
Place this meta tag before the closing </head>

    <meta name="google-translate-customization" content="blahblah47da71fde-ec7907a9cf70d4d6-g8c9d6cc3d8860d7a-20"></meta>

Place this snippet where you'd like to display the Website Translator plugin on your page
    <div id="google_translate_element"></div><script type="text/javascript"> function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({pageLanguage: 'en', layout: google.translate.TranslateElement.InlineLayout.SIMPLE, gaTrack: true, gaId: 'UA-XXXXXXX-1'}, 'google_translate_element'); } </script><script type="text/javascript" src="//translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit"></script>

    Any ideas?
I need something to help with translation fast!

    Thankyou!
The only problem is i didnt want to use widgets in the forum, only on the portal..
Ill try it for now, but if anyone else has any ideas i would greatly appreciate them..

Edit: i tried it, and it only translates the portal when placed on the portal..
I would prefer not to have widgets on every page..

I think the only way is to access templates, or through css?

I understand your not wanting to use those widgets, I don't have them on my forum either.

If you want a language translator on every page but don't want to use those widgets to achieve it, you could add a socialbar on your forum that will put a colored toolbar with the translaor on it at the bottom of your 'screen' on every page of your forum. You can design the bar with all the features you want it to have and the colors. You can add more things to the bar not just a language translator, like a facebook and twitter, a chatbox and more.

You would add the coding for it to your announcements. AP>>General>Announcements.

    Its free:
