User not found - Activation Problem

Hi,

A few of my users are having a problem with their activation mails.
The activation mail is getting sent to them, But it says that the user is not found.
I cant activate them through the "Inactive users", Because their names aren't there, in any of the three tabs.
I even tried changing it so i (the admin) could manually activate them through email, but that didn't work either.

I am truely Stumped.

are they showing in your memberlist at all?

Yep, But the say they're not activated, and that the email says they dont exist.

Would they be activated if they're in the memberlist?

they should be, but if they are unable to log in, it seems to be a tech issue. Can i just ask you to look at one more thing before i move this to the tech to sort out? what happens when you find them in the members list and click their username? does it take you into their profile or tell you they dont exist? and if it does take you into profile, you should then see a link in their called 'profile' clicking it should take you into their registration sheet in the admin panel. Let me know what happens please

Yea, I got into their Profile, in the administration panel,
So this means he is activated?

it is looking that way. If you can get into their profile in the admin panel...scroll down to the very bottom. It should tell you there wether he is activated or not. you can set it for him to be active too.

so he is activated and should be able to log in fine. If he is not able to log in, it could be because he is entering his username or password incorrectly, that will give him the phpbb error or this and the possibility that 'the user doesnt exist'

You could also try by changing his or her password temporarily. Tell them the new password, and if they can get in, they can change the password to whatever they want in their profiles once they get in.

Maybe even try changing the member name as well if that doesn't work. You would then have to change the member name back for them once they are in.
