UNREAD MESSAGES BUTTON Empty UNREAD MESSAGES BUTTON

Post by chouzouris January 28th 2008, 9:10 pm

In all forumotion forums one can click "view new posts since last visit" and can see every new post that has been made since he last logged in. However, if one logs out without reading all new posts, then all these are marked as read and do not show up as new posts in the next logging in.
I think that it is necessary to have a button that shows all unread posts. If one logs in and does not read all the posts, then all unread posts remain unread so that he can read them again in the future(unless he clicks them as read through another button).
All my members ask me to create this feature because it is VERY HELPFUL. What do you think????

I fully agree with this idea. Sometimes I would reframe from logging in as I only have a little time at hand and I know I won't manage reading all the new posts. If I would log in I would afterwards be unable to know which posts had been read and which ones not.

You should add a Yes/No poll so that people can vote

You should also remove the multiple poll option so that others may vote either for Yes or no, not both ways Wink

    Of course.
by the way this will be the most HELPFULL of all mods in Forumotion.

now a days, people does not have so much time to spend in front of his monitor. So imagine, a forum big enouph, with tons of new posts.
You should keep stuck in monitor to read them all?
Or log out and when login again, spend 30mins to find which was unread!!!

Even for me who has 50 members, 20 of them everyday visit, 5 of them post everyday.. and I still have to spend lot of combined time to read them all.

So we NEED some kind of "keep unread flags even after log out" modification.
it will save lots of our lives Smile
